I'm a Tour Operator in Bangladesh and England.
Bangladesh is a large delta laden with bounties of nature. The borderland along the north-east, east and the south-east is evergreen forested hills with wondrous wildlife.
The Sundarbans
The Sundarbans is the largest tidal mangrove forest in the world. It occupies an area of about 10,000 km. squared of which 62 percent is in Bangladesh. The forest lies on the Bay of Bengal, where the Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna rivers unite. It is famous for being the only habitat of the majestic Royal Bengal Tiger, Bangladesh's national animal. It is also bears exotic biodiversity of fauna including species of birds, spotted deer, crocodiles and snakes.
Cox's Bazaar
Cox's Bazaar is the world's longest natural sandy beach. It is amazingly 125 km long with a gentle slope. The beach is 150 km south of Chittagong, but it can easily be reached by air.
Some local experiences I can help you plan are:
- A river cruise on the Sundarbans and boating through the forest canals
- A walking adventure in the forest to see spotted deers with and maybe even a crocodile sunbathing!
- Moonlit dinner in the Sundarbans at the water's edge
- A visit to St. Martin's Island: the only coral island in Bangladesh
- A visit to Aggmeda Khyang: a large Buddhist monastery, Dulhazra Safari Park, or Himchari: a picnic spot famous for its waterfall
- Native tribal Bangladesh in places such as Rangamati and Bandarban
- Shopping with locals in seaside stores and markets
Ask me about all these local experiences and more - I'd love to help you plan your trip to Bangladesh!
