About Me

I am a single father of 2 boys and travel frequently for work in Asia and the Pacific - undertaking development work for ADB, World Bank and the like. I have visited over 80 countries from everything as a poor backpacker to 5 star traveller - and love the areas I visit.

I adore my own part of the world - and would love to share the beauty that it has to offer.

I travel throughout Asia and the Pacific for work - and am always providing advice to people from my experiences there. I also love the area I live in here - and am always picking up way ward backpackers and providing advice to friends on places to visit.

ABOUT MY AREA

Lake Macquarie is only 1.5 hours North of Sydney - and until I moved here - hardly knew it existed. Most Sydney siders drive on the free way out of sight. It is 4 times the size of Sydney Harbour - has access onto the sea, lots of remote beaches and natural headlands for walking, fishing and swimming.

Nearby are the beautiful and wild Watagan mountains, and 20 minutes away the Hunter Valley wine country with excellent wineries and restaurants. 20 minutes in the other direction are long ocean beaches that are virtually untouched - and slightly further north, the renewed city of Newcastle - with a vibrant, pub, club and dance scene.
