Although I travelled about the continents I wouldn't call myself a big traveller. As I walk, sit and talk a lot during my travels and as I return often to the same places, I see myself more as a small traveller. That much I do enjoy seeing countryside passing unceasingly from my seat in a train or from a plane, but still my greatest moments of travel I experience while walking through city streets or while searching my way through countryside and forests. To bump into a museum, a temple, a hamlet, a rare life form. I like to experience long distances, but in the end its the depth of cultural and natural encounters that makes me longing for the next journey.
Long time ago I started to work as a tour guide. First I considered it my fate to return to the same places over and over again. Untill I learned the enormous surplus value. I got longtime friends along the endless routes, dined and wined in fantastic restaurants and bars and was so lucky to receive the precious knowledge of change. This was like an introduction of the fourth dimension in my picturesque touristic picture of the world.
Nowadays I appreciate my travels to the same place as a privilege. To hear and see what is, what was and what will be. Although I want to travel to far away destinations, I believe I'll always be a small-scale-traveler.
At this moment my main destination as Tripbod is the Marmaris-Datca and Bodrum Peninsulas in southwestern Turkey. An ideal environment for small scale travels because of the great natural and cultural diversity.
I hope to be your friend on the other end, whenever you have plans to travel to this wonderful destination where Mediterranean meets Aegean Sea & Culture.
