Kenneth Johnson is owner and general manager of EcoColors, an Ecotourism adventure company in the Maya world in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico.
EcoColors runs eco-educational, biking, kayaking, snorkeling, trekking, bird watching and archaeological tours. He is a marine biologist with a Masters degree in business administration, and has several years experience in designing new products and working with local communities to promote ecotourism.
He has been the president and vice-president of the Mexican association of adventure travel and ecotourism, which focuses on the development and marketing of responsible operations in Mexico. He has also worked to train local communities on environmental interpretation, providing experience in the development and operation of ecotourism.
Some of the communities he has trained include Punta Allen and Muyil in Siankaan, Holbox, and Xcalak town. Currently Kenneth works as an outreach coordinator with the Coral Reef Alliance, where he advances the goals of the ICRAN MAR project to facilitate the development of good environmental practices for marine tour operators.
Finally, Kenneth´s passion is showing and teaching people about wildlife, as well as explaining why conserving wildlife is important for our world. Fortunately Mexico and the Maya region has tremendous biodiversity to discover and explore.
