About Me

I was born in Kensington and brought up in southeast London, where I am now once more based after three decades of living and travelling in the parts of the world that are my areas of expertise.

I spent 8 years living in Athens, originally teaching English before getting into travel writing, and still go to Greece two or three times a year for work.

I have worked as an author for the Rough Guides for 18 years and am a royaltied author on their titles to Greece. the Greek Islands, the Ionian Islands, and Corfu.

I have also written for AA publications on Corfu, Insight/Berlitz and DK Greece, as well as having a regular slot in easyJet Traveller magazine on Greek locations.

My interests are wide-ranging from football (as a lifelong Spurs fan) and other sports, through music (especially rock, indie and psychedelic) and food, to reading and participating in more philosophical and religious topics.

I believe in the underlying unity of all people and the universe, which is one reason I love travel, so people can experience that as a greater reality.
