I am a travel writer who specialises in Spain. I have spent much of the past decade studying and working in Spain, living in five different cities and visiting dozens of others. Over the past four years I have written exclusively about Spain - where to go, what to do and how to go about it.
Last year I did the Camino de Santiago - an 800km walk across northern Spain - which I enjoyed so much that I kept on walking, right until I reached the west coast and couldn't walk any further.
I have listened to flamenco in caves in Granada, seen some of the world's best art in Spain's most famous art museums, stood in front of the most spectacular cathedrals in the world and eaten in eateries as diverse as the oldest restaurant in the world (which is in Madrid) and the most down-to-earth tapas bars.
I have visited over 40 countries - and keep coming back to Spain as one of the very best that I've been to.
The variety of the landscape matches anything I've seen in Asia or North Africa, the cuisine is second to none, the ever-changing flamenco music can stir like no other musical style and the architecture is unrivalled anywhere in the world. Where else can you have an 2,000 year old aqueduct, the world's most bizarre church and the glimmering angles of Frank Gehry - all within a two-hour flight of each other?
There are also great beaches (and an excellent climate to go with it) as well as mountains for skiing. World-renowned soccer teams
And how about the art? Picasso and Dali are two of the most famous artists of the twentieth century, while the likes of Goya, Velazquez and El Greco will appeal to fans of more classic art.
I have also traveled extensively around Europe and can help with planning extended trips - especially budget/backpacker trips and with transportation.
