Hi, I'm Sam and I love to travel, meet new people, learn and explore.
I split my time between Brighton and somewhere else in the world, and have been on many adventures, including living in Beijing and South East Asia. Aside from a love of travel, I'm a bit of a greenie - not the hippy type, the green and gorgeous, or 'much better' type - I'm passionate about the oceans and scuba diving (I am the scuba Tripbod, more information below), and I thoroughly enjoy great quality food! I have an addiction to coffee that comes from 4 years working as a freelancer, and my current project is setting up an online service for small businesses in the tourism industry supporting them on all things sustainable, including how to market green credentials.
While exploring the world is very exciting there is one place I always return to and call home, and that's Brighton - I absolutely love it! My first encounter was 10 years ago on a weekend escape. I was very quickly seduced by the fresh sea air and cosmopolitan, free spirited atmosphere, and like many before me I was hooked and moved here for more.
What is it I love about Brighton..?
It is fun and friendly, small enough to walk around, and there's always something new going on. My favourite place to be is outside, it's a real treat. You get to enjoy life on the seafront, do a spot of people watching, or take in the musical sounds of the many international characters of the streets of Brighton - Linus and his Mbira always make me smile.
Food and drink are a very important part of Brighton's social scene, and my life. As a coffee addict I take full advantage of Brighton's café culture and know where to get the best beans and cake in town! Following coffee it has to be food, there are flavours from every corner of the globe, the choice is overwhelming. A personal favourite is Thai, by Thai's, from the café in my local Asian food market. You can also find many fine foods from the local Sussex area in shops, restaurants and markets around Brighton. Whether you want sausages or sparkling wine, cheese or chocolates, there's some real treats available!
What's also rather special about Brighton is that it's the green capital of the UK, so it's easy to be green and gorgeous, or just choose the one of the many 'much better' experiences available.
And then there's scuba diving...!
When I'm not in Brighton, you can normally find me in the ocean, more often than not somewhere hot! Whether it's for pleasure, guiding or teaching, it's a place I love to be. So if scuba diving is your thing, or you want to get started I can offer advice and suggestions on what, where and how.!
Some unique experiences I can help you plan:
. Brighton on Foot
. Green and Gorgeous in Brighton
. Brighton's Best Local Food Stops
. Much Better Diving
If they don't tickle your fancy, feel free to drop me a line with any other requests. I would love to help you plan your next escape to Brighton, or scuba diving adventure!
