My name is Cordula, I´m from Germany and have been living in El Salvador for almost 4 years. I studied sociology and translation, and right now, I am working as a primary school teacher and as a free-lance translator (English, Spanish and German). Besides that, I am working in a local peace project that organizes local grassroots organizations and holds workshops about peace-related topics.
My salvadorean husband and I live with our 2 year old son right on the slopes of San Salvador volcano, where the air is cool and we sometimes get interesting visits from porcupines and opossums that live close to our backyard. At the weekends, we love to go to one of the many beautiful beaches (1 1/2-3 hour-drive from San Salvador) to watch the surfers, the pelicans and the sunset, to explore the mangroves by boat and have some delicious fish dishes.
If we´re not at the beach, we visit Coatepeque Lake with its clear and refreshing waters and luscious vegetation, we go hiking in the mountains and pass by some small villages to enjoy local food and tranquility, or we stay in the city to meet friends in one of the many bars with live music and the regularly held arts festivals...
