Introducing Elisa - your Friend at the other End!

About Me

I'm a native of Tainan City, the historic and culture capital of Taiwan. After graduating from University, I worked as a secretary in the trading companies, so I got lots of opportunities to travel almost the whole world, I think I'm an international woman!

7 years ago, I changed my job to an interpreter and local tour guide and spent a lot of time to study the history and culture of Taiwan. I think that the interpreters introduce history to the tourists, especially the English interpreters who introduce their native culture and history in English - they are not translators, but the bridge to the heart of a new place.

I understand that a tourist comes to Taiwan for the real Taiwan, they don't come to see the airport, hotel. They come for our culture: high culture, low culture, middle culture, right, left, real or imagined -- they come here to see Taiwan, and I can help.

Tainan is the place in which the early immigrants from China settled, our daily life, local food, and folk believes, cultural actions remain the traditional Chinese types.

In Taiwan there are many festivals and customs, and over time these adapted to fit the local produce available - these items gradually became the specialty food of each locality.

Tainan City was the capital of Taiwan for two hundred years. It's special position in history, geography and politics makes it a city with the richest historic sites and local food culture - I look forward to welcoming you personally!
