Introducing Tracey - your Friend at the other End!

About Me

Originally from Australia, I've spent the past 10 years living in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore with my wonderful husband and two young kids.

We travel extensively around Asia and love this region.
I am a volunteer docent at the National Museum of Singapore, guiding visitors to the museum a number of times a month. This work has given me great insight into how Singapore has come to be the place it is today.

My passion over the past decade has been to fully explore the places we live, Singapore is no exception. I think it could be the most diverse and interesting place we've been yet.

Singapore is small, no doubt about it, but it packs a lot in:
It's multi-cultural population provides the visitor with a one-stop-shop of Chinese, Malay, Indian and Arab food, culture and tradition;

They say it is a city in a garden. You will be surrounded by lush tropical greenery wherever you are on this island. For those weary of urban landscapes, peaceful greenness will never be far from you on a trip here.

We also have extensive shopping options - malls to markets, theatres and a thriving arts scene, theme parks and our amazing zoo to name a few attractions.

To be honest, there is not much you cannot find here if you know where to look.

After years of travelling, from backpacking to luxury, I've discovered that I want to come home from a holiday understanding more about the destination I have visited, about the people who live there and what makes them tick.

I spend too many (pre-trip) hours searching the internet to find unique information about a destination but mainly come up with information from companies with the marketing budgets to self-promote.

After years of living as an expat I've realised the best info is from those on the ground. My friends around the globe have enriched my travelling life by steering me away from the tourist traps and showing me the unique parts of their adopted homes.

I'd love to do this for Tripbod members, just as I do for my family and friends when they visit.
